Is their a way to disconnect the battery from the engine compartment? Instead of opening the trunk and disconnecting the negative cable from the battery itself can it be done from the engine compartment?
Thanks for the help.

I have this connector on my non turbo, near the left strut tower under a small cover. Never disconnected these, but I know I can jump start the engine if the battery goes flat and, say, I can only access the car from the front end.

Side note, I always keep the ignition key in position II when disconnecting/reconnecting/jump starting the battery

Disconnecting that won't isolate the battery from the car, though. It's essentially in parallel with the battery
