2002 S60 2.;4T Rough Idle and Multiple Codes, (bad hose)

Post by agloy63 »

2002 S60 2.4 LPT
I suddenly have had an issue with rough idle. I have the following codes:

P0132 O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1
P0171 System Too Lean Bank 1
P2096 Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 1

I also have P0300 through P0305 misfires detected.

I have visually checked for bad vacuum lines, not that I might have missed something, and have cleaned the MAF sensor. Any ideas out there are greatly appreciated.

Probably that O2 sensor has gone bad, or needs to be cleaned, or the wiring to it is frayed, or the wiring connector needs to be cleaned?

look at the base of the injectors for fuel stains, they can develop air leaks,
tell tale sign is the dirt around the seals where they plug into the intake manifold.

New and interesting. When the idle is really rough there is no power assist to the brakes.

Keep looking for a vacuum hose gone bad, this brake issue points to problem with brake booster hose perhaps?

Pinch off the vacuum hose that runs to the aux vac pump and brake booster etc. and see if the idle smooths out.

Turned out to be a very small, rigid vacuum line going to the manifold. Didn't see it due to it being inside a larger rubber vacuum line!
