Sunroof and drivers window don't work

Post by lmc2169 »

I just bought an 04 XC90 T6 in a repo auction so the price was incredible, but I have no knowledge of the vehicles history really. I knew it was going to need a battery,so I took a brand new one when I picked it up. It started and drove great. All windows and other power features work except for the 12v plug (which was just a fuse) drivers window and the sunroof. In reading past posts, I tried a couple of tips I read but neither worked. I locked and unlocked the vehicle with the key 3 times. I also read about the steps hooking up the battery, so we disconnected the cables, touched them together, turned the key to II, and hooked neg up first then positive. SRS light never went off so after 2 minutes I tried it with no luck. Any other suggestions?

Your sunroof is tied to your alarm system. Does your DIM tell you-ALARM SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED? The battery pack in the right front fender is probably dead, and your sunroof with it. XC90 common. :| Lots of digging, unplug alarm battery/siren pack and your roof will probably work.

Did you read the material on T6s before you bought it??? I didn't, and that's how I found MVS.
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

No didn't read it. Bought through an auction and downloaded the manual the next day because it wasn't in it. lol Thank you,I will try that? Any hints about the driver window and mirror adjustment? All other windows and locks work fine. Makes me think it is another fun Volvo quirk. Any suggestions would be helpful.
