Working on a 2002 S60 2.4 t3, it blew one or both front cam seals. Got the pcv replaced cleaned oil out of the plug wells and top of rocker cover , cleaned turbo pipes and MAF along with the throttle body.
Set top dead center and removed timing belt but there is oil everywhere. Have timing belt kit with tensioner and water pump
What do I use to clean up all the oil all over the sprockets. Carb cleaner? Brake cleaner.
Have to get this cleaned up before I replace the cam seals so I know I got those right. Need suggestions
Thanks
Greg

Lighter fluid works wonders but you've gotta hose it real good afterwards to avoid blowing your garage off the map.
belt and tensioner/idlers off, electronics covered well, and using hot water with dawn dish soap and an agitator (poly brush) is a method. Rinse clean with plain hot water until suds are no longer foaming about.
ugh smh 850 Turbo fridge
