Are these the frame in the sides of the trunk in your wagon? I only have the RH one in my 2000 wagon, but can take pictures for you later and post them if that helps?

Here are some pictures, not great ones as rear of garage is dark! Hopefully these help.
I have only the RH side fitted in my car as that was how I bought it, but I have LH one if I ever get the notion I need it. I don't have them both as they are a pain to remove as I have a plastic load try that goes under them, and I have to remove them to remove the tray to get into the spare tire. There are 4 clips fitted in my car but not sure why one is there as there is nothing that attaches to it.
There is one clip at the rear panel by the tailgate on the rear pillar, and 2 at the front of the frame. Position the upper one as near the top as possible and the lower one about half way down the forward end of the frame. Check where the frame sits so you don't have a clip where the frame has a cross bar.
I added the unfitted LH net above. The reason is to show that the frame should have both ends vertical and the bottom metal bar should be straight and horizontal to the floor.
Does this help or do you need pictures from different angles?

I just re-looked at your picture and realise it is a shorter net, I'm sure our 98 V70 XC had a shorter one on the LH side. Same idea but just shorter and still 2 clips to the front.
