If you wanted to avoid the gloves, doing it near a sink may be a smart move. that way you can just wash your hands after.

If you use Akebono ceramic brake pads you will practically never have to clean your wheels again (at least not of brake dust).

My Spanish made Bosch pads certainly seem to do the trick so far

ATE Ceramic pads are on the list for next time anything needs replacement. Or by spring. Depends a bit on how long I think I'll keep the car. Though there really isn't anything wrong with it and anything to match it's power/weight ratio is going to be either expensive or as old.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Started LCA, Ball joint, Inner & Outer tie rods today on my '06 V70. Went with all Lemforder parts except inner tie rods (TRW). Broke down one side, taking the struts out will make job a little more roomier. Rear LCA (hockey puck) bushing shot, as well as tie rod end. I think I read somebody used 2" PVC pipe for installing ball joint, it does fit perfectly over ball joints boot protector sleeve. With one threaded end and 2" threaded galvanized cap for pounding on, it just might work.

Iinstalled new ball joints in steering knuckles on my '06 V70. Used 2" by 4" galvanized pipe with cap, worked perfect. About half dozen shots with a 5 lb. hammer and they were home.
