940 T Wagon Overdrive

Post by ChMcleod »

Hey everyone. I'm confused about the overdrive on my car, wondering if these symptoms are normal/common/bad... upon pressing the OD button, the dash light comes on and the car immediately goes into a HIGHER RPM gear... the shift happens smoothly, the gear doesn't slip, but I would think the Overdrive gear should cruise in a lower RPM, right? Any wisdom appreciated!

I'm thinking the button is for overdrive lock-out. For towing and driving in mountains. Count how many times the trans shifts.

You're taking it out of overdrive when the light is on.
