brake locating pin removal problems

I am trying to replace the brake and rotors on my 2011 xc60, but am having problems removing the locating pins. I have removed the dust covers and tried using a 7mm hex socket (and also an Allen wrench) without success. I next tried other sizes of hex sockets and allen wrenchs - nothing worked. What do I use to remove the pin?
