Whats wrong with my car?

Post by Chrisg13 »

I just changed my Pcv system on my 97 850 T-5 and added a intake manifold spacer and when I put the car together this happens when I try to turn on the car, any ideas on what I did wrong?

You probably left a massive intake leak somewhere.

Take that spacer out too, I don't know why people buy those things.

I concur with abscate, massive air leak. On my brother's V70, after a PCV job, the intake manifold gasket was out of spec (and I imagine he didn't torque down his bolts right...) and it made exactly that noise. The intake manifold, when lined up against a straight edge, wasn't flat for some reason. His mechanic used two gaskets and some orange RTV on it and the car has been purring like a kitten since! Good luck and report back to us when you get it ironed out.

Did you happen to sandwich the lower right (from looking at it from front of the hood) PCV hose bracket between the mating surfaces, by chance?

Watched a mate do that with one of those plastic spacers once. I was holding a beer, instead of the bracket in place.
