Trying to install a aftermarket Radio, bought a single din pop out From Crutchfield they sent "everything" I need to install it. I've been told by them that I don't need the adapter that plugs into the factory amp into the radio they said the wiring harness bypasses the amp completely..it powers up fine I just no sound coming from my speakers which after reading online came up with the idea I needed the amp adapter. Just wondering if I'm on the right page or if Crutchfield knows what they're talking about. Also took I to shop and was told I have to run new speaker wire to all my speakers, seemed a little drastic to me. But Idk

They're both wrong.
You certainly could get the 6 pin DIN to RCA cable and use the OEM amp, no problem. But also -
Crutchfield forget to tell you that you need to dig into the dash to bypass the factory amp.

There are a couple of foam wrapped connectors buried behind he HU that are identical to
the ones that plug into your Volvo radio. Find'em, unplug'em and plug THOSE into the new HU.

The shop that wanted to rewire your car just has no clue what they're doing... Steer Clear!
