Retracting parking brake expander

Post by Jim K »

Does anyone have information on how to retract the brake shoes on a 2010 XC90? The rotor spins freely by hand, however it cannot be removed because it is being held in place by the emergency brake shoes. The position of the brake shoes is controlled by an expander, not an adjuster. I’ve inspected around the parking brake pedal and under the car but did not see anything to loosen the tension of the cables. I've attached a schematic from the dealer. Thanks for any assistance.
