Volvo #985186 bolt equivalent

On some of our favorite part supplier websites, this bolt is listed as discontinued. Not to worry!!!

Volvo 985186 is equivalent to an 8mm x 1.25 x 20mm bolt.

Head sizes are different. (OE is 12mm and the DIN aftermarket bolt is 13mm.) Flanges are exactly the same size though. Only other difference is the Volvo bolt has a washer built into it.

Not sure. Can't read the markings on the OE Volvo bolt. But I would imagine 8.8 seems about right for this bolt.

The other bolt that holds up the rear muffler bracket read 8.8 on it.

This size does come in 10.9... https://www.boltdepot.com/Product-Detai ... duct=17744 but without the zinc-plated coating.

Im not sure this info is correct here

The intake manifold flange bolts are M7 , not M8

If you have a 12 ratchet or gun, m8s will go in , but........

Very light torque on these, like 15 ft lbs. barely a nip on the 6 inch ratchet

The M8 is for bolting some lower brackets to the intake manifold.

Many of Volvo's bolts are rated at 8.8 grade. Unless you are being crazy this grade is good.
