2001 s60 2.4t tach pegs and wont start....then runs perfect
Ok, so I was having a problem with this car being really hard to start and the tach would peg and jump around when trying to start the car. We then found that the transmission had been replaced and the surfaces had not been cleaned. We pulled the engine and cleaned the surfaces and also changed the starter and crank sensor. Now, the car runs great.... but.... everyday the first time you turn the key to position 2 the tach hits 8 and you get "electrical system service required" and also "engine system service required" before even cranking the engine. If you turn the key off and back on the tach stays at 0 and it will usually start. After it is running it will start every time. Anyone have ANY idea what may be wrong with this car??? We are at wits end......

Ignition switch sounds intermittent.
