My 1999 V70 AWD Cross Country has just been listed as a "Dangerous Vehicle", because i investigated a 'clicking noise whilst turning and also whilst braking hard.
An aluminium bush welded to the steering are, has come unwelded, and cannot be repaired, meaning a new/secondhand steering arm with bushes. A small block of wood was discovered, jammed between the steering arm and the broken bush to support the left side of the steering arm.
Because of this problem, ALL four tyres have scrubbed out on the inside, meaning four new tyres + four wheel alignments.
Worst thing is, the road authority is now chasing the person who sold me the car, and the mechanic who did the 'repairs' and authorised the vehicle as 'safe'. Whoops! The vehicle inspector said I was very lucky to be alive, even though it was a Volvo.

Wow, do you have any pictures of what has de welded, and where/how a piece of wood was jammed in?.

When i bought my volvo i discovered some dangerous additional wiring and an telephone antenna cable wrapped around the curtain airbag.
