How many miles are on it?
It's 8 years old, who knows how well it was serviced?
The tranny is the same as an 05-07, some go bad, most do not...

You will get here with any car if you "drive it until a problem shows up" as do 95% of people in the US.
First problem the poster has is the battery is near dead - which will cause lots of problems on a P2 or any modern car today.

Agree with you all, not the car's fault. It's most surely some bad neglect from PO. Even sounds like the transmission has run out of oil or maybe an axle popped out?

Toasted transmission since it only happens in Drive, not in R, so I don't think it is axle
