Alpine CHM-S620 to SC-805

Post by raivis_rsn »

Hi guys and happy new year!
I decided to install CD changer in my Volvo. I bought Alpine CHM-S620 and made custom cable by this tutorial but no luck.. Changer ejects cartridge and checks all discs after putting cartridge in just fine but that's all, head unit says 'NO CHGR' when I press CHGR button. There is some kind of communication issue between them. I have read almost everything about connecting aftermarket Alpine changers to Volvo SC radios I found on internet but I have no idea what's wrong. Is issue really related to fact that SC-805 (EU variant of SC-816) is manufactured by Mitsubishi and not Alpine? I know about Blitzsafe adapters but it's impossible to get one, they are out of stock everywhere and they're very expensive too. Maybe someone of you have Blitzsafe VOL-ALP adapter and can sell it to me?
Thanks for help! :)

I traded my Alpine for OEM Volvo changer and everything is working now. :)
