P3 lower fuse block access engine compartment

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

P3 lower fuse block access engine compartment

Post by TheGlue »

I need access to the lower half of the fuse block in the engine compartment. The upper is comprised of a black main panel/body and a gray outer shell. I was able to lift the block partially but not with out consequence. There are two clips on the fender side, one clip towards the front side, one towards the engine side, and i believe one towards the cabin that is kinda hidden (this one almost looks like it is part of the gray/black parts connection). The side that won't come up is the fender side. I tried using the R10 spot to grip the block with and pull straight up since there is an alignment tab on the front side. I've already chipped it here and there trying to gently nudge it up but I'm at a point where I don't want to do more damage because I believe this should come out relatively easy. I am in the process of checking fuses...especially fuse 11 (Climate blower...yeah yeah, I know, but I gotta check). The car is new to me (S60 died full of new parts) so above and beyond all else I'm checking things out. Help!
