Fuel latch/lock not working

The fuel door does not seem to lock anymore.
I seem to remember it used to have a latch as well that it would catch but not sure.
Any ideas what to check? Is there a fuse for this?

There's a solenoid that engages or disengages the lock on the door. On my 850 it cycles every time I lock/unlock the car. On my newer cars it just unlocks when I press the button, then locks again at the next lock cycle. (Much less wear on it.)

Your issue could be a bad fuse, or a sticking / failed solenoid that just doesn't want to move any more without attention. You can probably access it by opening the panel in the tail end, and then check voltage and test the solenoid. Hope this helps!

The fuse that powers the fuel door is located on the rear electronics module (REM). Your owners manual shows where it's located on the LH side of the cargo compartment. Are any other functions not working like tailgate locking or rear passenger door locking? Shorting within the tailgate wire harness at the LH hinge can cause the fuse(s) that power the locks, fuel door, third brake light, rear cargo dome light (maybe others) to blow.
