Hi Everyone,
I need a little help figuring out which direction to go... I changed the timing belt and components on my 1996 Volvo 850 GLT, thought I had the timing on. drove around the block worked fine. It sat for a couple of days as the weather was nice and I biked. Then the battery was dead when I tried to use it. I decided to just grab a new battery since the one in there was almost 11 years old. Went to the store later that night and it died/lost power and stalled when it warmed up. I waited and then got it home when it cooled. couldn't work on it for a few days and next time I took a look at it the new battery was completely dead also, so i figure there must be some drain.
I did the timing again cause it looked like I might have been off 1 tooth possibly. Took 3 tries of setting it, it seemed to keep jerking one tooth over whenever I pulled the pin on the tensioner. But I finally got what looks like all 3 lines aligned and have the same problem again.
Any guesses as to my problem or what you would test first? Thanks for any help!
I should add it ran perfectly fine before timing belt change. It has new fuel pump not to long ago. No check engine light has come on which seems weird...

Timing Belt job is unrelated.
Stalled when warm: probably ECT issue.
New battery dead: probably bad alternator, check the alternator output.

Check the positive battery cable end - does it get hot after the car has been running for a little while? Very common problem, that would explain the battery issues.
