2002 s60 problem

Post by jim8923 »

Hay guyes, I have a problem with my 02 s60 When you cold start the car it will run fine, and idle fine, rev up fine, (just like it did for the past 15 yrs) Than after 5-10 mts Idle will drop to 2000rpm and the acceleration pedal will NOT rev the engine (car will not go more than 20mph)
I get codes of P0032 and P0037 both have to do with 02 sensor (i think) Will a bad 02 sensor take away all power and not allow the gas pedal to have any effect on the rpms ???
I have cleaned the MAF, and the ETM (i did not remove the ETM) with the correct cleaner, to no effect.

As with a 15 year old car with 187000 miles, You cannot take it to a dealer and spend more than the car is worth. So any help or tests to pinpoint the problem would be a help.

Thanks

JIM

Hi Jim, have you had the catalytic converter replaced on the vehicle? Those are signs that it is clogged. Usually you can get under the car and tap on it, if you hear stuff rattling around in there then you need a new one.
