Low cost Vida dice scanner tool

Anyone have any experience with the "2014D Vida Dice scanner diagnostic tools that are selling for under $80.00 on eBay these days? Presumably Chinese knockoffs but awfully tempting if you can get the software to work.

I have one from a similar site. The biggest problem is that the software doesn't run on anything newer than Windows 7.

I just had a dim cluster replaced in my 2003 v70. I bought it on ebay for $200 with no returns. All numbers matched except Mfg date. I installed it properly and when I turned the key to ll position, nothing but the cel came on.

I know now that it needs flashed. Does anyone know if one of these vida dice things from eBay would do it?
