Fumes in cab

My 98v70 has been getting fumes in the cab when the outside air vent is open i replaced the fresh air hose which i thought supplied cool air to the cpu it had splits in the flexible section think this may be the issue however still getting fumes i am still getting a large evaporative leak code which i haven't been able to track down yet not sure if this would have anything to do with it.I read here it maybe be the PVC being clogged but after watching Roberts video on testing that its seems the PVc is ok suggestions would be appreciated.

Either have a fuel leak or a open vacuum line somewhere. That is pretty rare with these cars.

The hose on the ECU is an exhaust hose - air is drawn from the cabin and flows over the ECU, then exhausts through that hose.

Most likely is a leak at the fuel pump, which is super common in these cars. Not sure what rspi is saying there, maybe sarcasm?

It's not gas and I am getting a large evaporative leak code somewhere it's being a bugger to find I have replaced about every d hose I could find.

LOL well if it isn't gas fumes, what is it? So when you say fumes, are you talking about exhaust/combustion gases? In that case I'd check the downpipe and condition of the exhaust.

P0455 is super common, usually vacuum elbows or purge valve problem. Check the evap purge valve next to the rad fan first. P0455 wouldn't usually have anything to do with exhaust gases in the cabin, but I suppose it could.

Where does the fresh air come in? I suppose i could start looking in that area.

I can definitely smell fumes on one side by the turbo the intercooler tube has a slight buildup of oil around the band.

Check rubber weather stripping around top/rear of engine bay if it is anything like my old car if a bit was "not in the proper position" it would suck in fumes. Would also suggest fixing whatever is causing the fumes...
