I posted this on Swedespeed, but after a few days of reading up on how to fix various issues, I've come to like this forum more than the others. Hopefully someone can help me here, and thanks in advance.
I just picked up a 2003 S60 Base model and have been busy sorting through its various issues. The biggest problem for now is with the driver's side headlight. It is very dim, and is only getting about 5.3v when only low beams are selected. When the highs are turned on, the driver's side goes off completely and a low beam failure warning comes on the dash. The passenger light functions normally. I have replaced the bulbs and checked all the fuses and they seem fine, but at this point I'm a bit lost as to where to go next.
Now, to the other things I'm steadily fixing. I get a little grinding, whirring sound from the climate control on startup and read it could be a little fan inside? Has anyone experienced this? How do I remove the knobs from the climate control unit? They don't seem to pull off like the radio knobs. My navigation doesn't work, it says the disk cannot be read, and I honestly don't know where to put in the navigation CDs. I tried the head unit and it says error even after using the cleaning disk, but it plays audio CDs without issue. And probably the most vague of my questions, I have a little clunk/click from the front suspension under side to side transitions and an occasional groan from the steering when turned. I visually inspected the bushings I could see and nothing looks bad except for the torn upper motor mount which I have a replacement for.
