So, many consider the auto start/stop a nuisance, and may want to praise me for happening across a way to permanently defeat it, but...it worked when we left dealership (new purchase). Now about 600 miles, gives readings constantly of not ready. We have reset all the air conditioning settings, etc,; have made 25 mile Interstate runs; and there have variations in outside temps from 65 (yes, in Feb!) to 25...most days about 45 degrees. I'm about to check main battery voltage...questions are:
1: Do I have an auxiliary battery, and if so,
2: How do I check that voltage
I know I'm easily in warranty, but I'd like to forearmed. I'm aware last few years there were satellite (Sirius?) software issues (those devices have not been on much at all...) dragging down batteries. Any hints still software updates necessary?
As just a trivial additional note: The "average" MPH reading seems to stay at 18 MPH ever since the first day...not a biggie, but minor indications a glitch there, though probably not related. The MPG varies about as it should.
2017 XC60 no Auto stop/start et al
As any update, main battery read 12.3 V. So we took it to our dealership, which determined the Battery Conditioning System (Ford?) needed to be be reset, requiring an overnight recharge (and loaner vehicle). They also updated the IHU/ECU software for a possible HD radio issue. The Start-Stop worked fine last two weeks until this morning. Several local trips and medium trips until today. Today: Daytime, no seat heaters, etc, 38 deg F, couple miles at 30 mph, stop, in sunlight for 20 mins, then 12 miles at 70 mph. Parked, in sunlight, 50 deg F. Pretty much the reverse route home...no Start Stop at all. T5 Dynamic, so no foot modules or anything exotic. Auto climate on, Start Stop red Not Ready. Mileage: 939. Will try longer trips again tomorrow, but looks like another visit...unless someone has advice to give dealership, like some Tech item?

Same thing happened to my 2017 S60 cross country. No start stop, reset bms and then it worked for a day or two. Replaced battery with a Champion H7 AGM 1000 ccs battery at pep boys . Problem solved !! Start stop works every time .

There is a second battery up in the cowl with wiper linkage on P3 models. The system is picky as no start is WAY better than stopping n then not being able to start instantly.

Believe me has nothing to do with the auxiliary battery, it is always the main battery the culprit . Start stop system just eats batteries too quick . If battery charge goes below 70% the S/S system gets shut down
