license plate light trigger side marker warning?

Hello,

I've had the message on the screen for several months referencing the side markers or similar. Have never been able to figure it out and since the car is a 2003 I just determined a working (but odd) bulb was messing with the resistance.

It just dawned on me that it could be the license play light. Would that trigger the message, although a bit incorrect for the location?

Be about a week before I can test out the theory.
