98 S70 N/A 5-speed, 12V Accessory Socket

Post by theWIFES_S70 »

Hey guys, ready to finally take care of this. The cigarette lighter (accessory socket) nearest to the ashtray hasn't worked since we got the car. Has anyone had any luck replacing it with one of these? Or will this melt my car and turn it into an electrical nightmare? I know I can pick these up at a pick-n-pull for pennies, but I don't live anywhere near one.

Amazon has it, too.

Tasca doesn't sell the front one but sells the rear one. LIGHTER SLEEVE - 1998 VOLVO S70 (9442267). Can you fit the rear one into the front socket? I can't imagine that the rear and front sockets would use drastically different connectors, or would they?
