PART 2 Lots of lights, loss of AWD, power issues ... DEM FIXED now down again

Hi all,
I posted a month or so ago about my 2004 XC wagon triggering lots of lights which were things like ABS, transmission,check engine lots more, plus odometer and speedometer stopped working. Eventually there was loss of power and stalling and loss of AWD.
At first our mechanic could not find the problem as it was intermittent and no codes were off.
Once it became more consistent, they figured it was the DEM. They replaced with a rebuilt and all seemed fine ... until a couple of days ago.
Went out to start and odometer and speedometer not working, a little loss of power etc BUT the only light was check engine.
Mechanic feels inside dash needs repair and suspected before that it could happen.

Just went out and disconnected and reconnected battery and everything reset and car runs good. BUT a new light was airbag message.

Any thoughts?

no speedo thats usually ABS isn't it? could also be the DEM . do they have a DICE?
