First, many thanks to doublebug's West Coast protege for getting my 2001 V70 T5's CEM reprogrammed. By wifi from some 3000 miles away yet. That's truly weird to be sitting in your car while some guy on the opposite coast is controlling the car - lights going on and off, door locks clicking, etc.. But he made the car work. I highly recommend him. Great guy, too.. And patient...
Two problems:
My front passenger door won't stay locked when I lock it with the remote. The button goes down, but pops right back up. I'm guessing an actuator problem, but what should I look for when I pull the door panel off?
My right front shock upper mount is broken. I don't have a compressor, but I am close to a parts yard with at least 6 2001+ Volvos in it. So I am thinking about just replacing the entire assembly - mount, spring and shock, from another car. I have my eye on a 2004 S60. Are they interchangeable? The y look like it. And should l I replace both sides?
door won't stay locked and suspension question

You mean the spring seat - rubber part? Strut mount is the metal bearing plate with the 3 bolts
Struts, I believe the front ones are same, as long as it's same awd with awd, fwd with fwd
Don't think of a way to make sure the used spring seat is good without removing the coil spring, so it's a bit of a gamble. Look for one with the strut plate less rusted, but even then could be a cheap aftermarket part that will fail in the next 6mths

It thinks the door is ajar even though it is latch closed. Pull the mechanism and inspect for crude corrosion. Clean the connection points and anything that appears to be binding. If you need to lock it for security purposes, disconnect the harness and manually lock/unlock as needed until it is repaired.

oragex - sorry my bad - I meant the rubber part. Thanks. I'll watch for rust on the parts yard parts. I saw one that had Konis on it a while back. I hope it's still there..
beigg - Glad to know it's corrosion. Thanks
