Bought 04 s60r manual tonight for my xc 70

Post by Bigkk »

So I bought a 150k miles s60r tonight wiTh some issues, angle gear shot, suspension issues....whatever.

Engine feels good, transmission feels fine too.

My goal is to canabolize this car and put it into my lifted xc70.

Hoping to be pointed into the right direction, I'm thinking I'll transfer motor tranny, driveshaft, axles, brakes and maybe the odometer cuz it's pretty.

Should I transfer ECU or have it recoded to match the. Motor

Also, considering rebuilding the motor, any experience with aftermarket forged components, larger injectors?

This is going to be a year project... so I'm not in a rush, just excited. I'll post pics later, probably tomorrow

You can't. ECUs are VIN coded
You need to get a custom tune for a manual transmission.
If you don't the XC won't go over 4500 RPMs
Mod note. Jim passed away in early 2022, his contributions to this forum are immortal, and he is missed. RIP
