What's with the god-dam Captcha nonsense? Topic is solved

I spend half an hour writing up an update with pictures on my project thread, and every time I try to preview or post it, I get this dam Captcha verification message and it wipes all the links to my photos. Please remove this stupid device please!

Can anyone tell me if this is my computer that is a problem or something with MVS. I have 3 virus checkers on my computer and this dumb ass Captcha control wipes any pictures I try to upload. As a dyslexic I don't appreciate having to do write ups multiple times. Why is this feature needed when we have to sign in in the first place?

I just added two pics to a thread without CAPTCHA - something is fishy in Alberta on your end, Yorick.

Bummer Neil!

I know of what you speak but don't recall it here at MVS. Never any interference with replies or photos. My machine is locked down well. I don't allow any unauthorized scripts, on any sites: Period.

Note it is possible for #$%@-ware to hide from AV scanners. Just read an article about it yesterday. A program called Process Explorer can be used to find browser/search hijacks and other #$%#-ware hiding behind legitiment Windows dll's and processes. Here's a link to a tutorial on how to use these tools: https://www.howtogeek.com/school/sysinternals-pro/ to see what's all running, who is calling it and what it affected. In addition, you can use another tool called Autoruns to examine in great detail everything that is started at boot.

These tools are well documented, free, and essential to tracking down MS Wndws problems. You can dwnld the entire suite at technet.microsoft.com. Search for "sysinternals".

Post a screen snap-shot where catcha is rearing its ugly head.

Neil, it's to stop spammers from posting junk here, and launching attacks against the MVS server. It's part of a service I buy called Cloudflare. They operate between the MVS server and the world, stopping DDoS attacks and spam. Like a security service.

Spam is annoying, but a couple times a year we'll get a DDoS attack that will knock MVS offline. I take it seriously because it is serious.

It has nothing to do with your computer.

That said, I just now "whitelisted" Canada in the Cloudflare control panel. That means you shouldn't get challenges any more.

Can you try now?

Re-tried and still the same issue. The Captcha page comes up and disconnects the pictures.

I have uploaded the update to my 2000 V70 project again. Is it possible to remove the previous version from yesterday (22nd Feb 2017) which had no pictures?

The Captcha still comes up, but at least it is not removing the photo links.

It is a real pain as it now takes 2 Captcha exercises to get the stuff to work, and every time I try to do a prevue, it does that as well. Royal Pain, but Matt I do understand the issue from your end. I guess I'll have to learn to deal with it, but at least it is not deleting all my work and photos now!!
