High Fuel Rail Pressure

2006 xc70 with 287k and driving home the other night car just stalled. Would not restart but cranked fine so assume fuel pump failed as it was still original. Towed home and check schrader and nothing. Not even a drop. Ordered and replaced fuel pump and pressure sensor and car started but now fuel rail over pressure at 87psi and I could hear pump whining. More research and stumbled on PEM issue and check and mine was still mounted to side of tank. Sure enough corroded like you would not believe. Ordered used PEM and cleaned connector with contact cleaner and still over pressurizing. Have ordered relocation harness, so will replace when it arrives but now wondering if the issue is still corrosion in the connector I can't see, the new PEM requires flashing of my software, or do I now have a new different fuel pump malfunction. Your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

What brand the replacement pump?

From memory, others having dealt with this, the PEM doesn't require flashing - Volvo will say the opposite

Try google other forums/sites about high pressure, I remember someone having this issue and being able to solve it
