1998 C70 P0455 code

After 11 years of living with this code my local Volvo independent shop Eurotech in Rancho Cordova Ca. 95670, fixed the problem by resurfacing the filler port, word to the wise if you have fuel on your gas cap gasket then your filler port is your problem.

I too have an intermittent P0455 code on my '99 v70 XC. I clear it and move on. I don't smell any fuel vapors. Can you tell me what (if any) symptoms you experienced? And what does resurfacing a fuel filler port entail? We're talking about the opening directly under the gas cap and not the neck leading to the tank, right? What did he charge?

And just out of curiosity - what is going on to cause fuel on the gasket?
