Has anyone changed the front sway bar bushings on their P2?

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Has anyone changed the front sway bar bushings on their P2?

Post by Legofan »

I'm getting a large clunk on bumps and its right at the passenger's feet. The sway bar bushings are shot so I'd like to replace them. I know they are vulcanized to the bar so I am looking to see if anyone has figured out a way to change them or just get a new sway bar for $150.

Secondly, is swapping out the sway bar going to require me to drop the back of the sub assembly?

Here is some guidance on replacement. I believe there is no choice other than change out the whole bar.

FCP has the bar for $136.

Awesome, thanks!

I noticed there are a few types of bars for the S80, are there markings on the bar?

No choice buying the entire bar. The dealer charges $214.00 Canadian..which is probably less than half that stateside.

My dealer charged me $217.14 for the part for my 2004 S80 T6. It was changed last week. I am not sure I would use aftermarket parts for the front end.

FCPeuro has the OE parts for $130, I haven't heard anything stellar about IPD's sway bar kit.
