Swap V70 side mirrors onto an XC?

Post by BlackBart »

These side mirrors are huge. Has anyone tried to swap in a set of smaller V70 mirrors? I assume the mounting is the same?

Sure, I did a couple of years ago.
All you need is a complete pair of the standard mirrors.

I have a different question: Will mirrors from an XC70 2001-2003 fit an S80 2000?

JRL - thanks for the info.

Is the exterior triangular trim piece the same, or is the arm of the V70 mirror a different shape with it's own trim?
Are the mirror motor connections the same?
Is the wiring connection the same? Puddle lights, etc.

Thanks -

Ah ha...the arm and triangle are one piece.

So are the electrics and connections the same?

Thanks -

My S80 is mainly driven by my 91-year old dad. And I know that V70<->XC70 mirrors are no problems, but I'd like to know if the S80 <-> XC70 is possible, which I also wrote in my original thread hogging question...

Now I know, due to the UK forum. S60/V70/XC70 are interchangeable, but that fat toad S80 has a different mirror mount with an extra plastic thingy in the front.

Was referring to the V70 piece.
