Taking a wrecked v70 awd, could I?

Make my car awd, with larger brakes and use the trans and ecu from the v70?
Let me know what you think and if it is possible.

As they say, probably anything is possible if you through enough time and money at it. First issue is what are the respective wheel bases of the 2 vehicles? If the C70 is shorter then for a start the prop-shaft would have to be shortened to fit. Next thing is the easiest thing would be to swap the whole drive line over including the ECU and TCU. Many things need to be considered as the later (99-00) will be easier to work with as even the dashboard wiring is different to 98, as well as airbags and many other systems.

Next thing would be to see if the AWD rear sub-frame and fuel tank will fit due to the length of the space from behind the rear footwell and rear axle position.

The AWD vehicles use a saddle type fuel tank to straddle the prop-shaft so you would have to see if the prop-shaft tunnel can accommodate a prop-shaft. I'm sure a year or so ago, there was someone in Norway trying to make a AWD V70 or S70 from a FWD, so may be worth looking into that and try contacting him to see if he ever completed the project.

Thanks was not sure how similar or not the cars are, I guess moving over more than less would be best, until you mentioned it, did not think about prop shaft. shortening for sure, but a place for it to be? Good thoughts.
I think also I may have a large exhaust that would need to go away

So how about this?
Take some type of small motors, hub motors or one just for rear wheels?
ELECTRIC!
then use them to start off and regen braking, and save on gas and get awd, but I guess software would be very hard

There are companies out in California that custom make or modify existing cars to make them all electric. But as to the hybrid versions I'm not sure if there is anyone offering that option yet. I recall watching a British TV show called Wheeler Dealers who built a car in California that had been modified previously to make it electric in the early 90's. They upgraded it to a modern power supply and it was pretty amazing. Again it was all electric and not hybrid or AWD. There is another UK program called MotorheadsTV.com that one of the presenters took an early 70's UK electric car and now drag races it. It puts out around 800bhp equivalent and runs sub-12secs on the 1/4mile.
