We all appreciate Robert's great videos, but to be honest I seldom use them, but from time-to-time I do refer to them. Today is a good example. Like many things internal in my project V70, nearly every internal panel has been damaged or broken in some way. The only panels I have not had to repair so far are the upper dash panel, the RH 'B' pillar cover and seatbelt guide, the 2 'C' pillar covers and the upper and lower LH load area covers. I have had to scrub them all clean, but not had to repair them.

I usually read up on Vida the repair methods, but find sometimes they are a bit glib and lack concise detail on some repairs. Todays required repair was to replace the LH front seat belt as the PO had broken the seat belt guide and this had allowed the rough edge of the pillar cover to badly chafe and shred the lower edge of the belt.

I read up on Vida, and then removed the seat belt at the seat (who knew you could just press in a tab and release it above the lower mount on the seat?!), removed the top cover on the 'B' pillar cover and the little read retainer. But then it came to removing the 'B' pillar cover. I could find no way to get it off. I had figured out you had to release the 2 clips (like headlight bulb retainer clips) but the cover would not move. Being famous for breaking stuff, for once I decided to take a step back and research first. It was frustrating as (hopefully) this is the last repair prior to reversing the direct ion of the car in the garage to tackle the front end, so it was frustrating to be stuck so close to the finish line.

Put a Google search in, and what popped up? rspi's video on how to replace a video on Youtube. One quick review and with the confidence I just needed to pull harder on the panel, it came off without breaking. Awesome!

I may not need to watch all of his videos, but it is great to have them there when you need them!

I can't tell you how many times Robert's videos have saved my day. When I get stuck I search for them first.

Glad it / they help. Most of us are tired of breaking old plastic trim pieces that cause our great running cars to look their age. I promise you, I break that stuff from time to time and do update the videos when I find good short cuts and easier ways to do things with destroying stuff.

As I have said before, I have learned a lot from forums like this and have the time to document so many of them in video format.

I replaced the front strut bearings and spring seats on my 854 yesterday, and watching your video on it made it simple to do so.
