Got this Volvo last year and took it for new transmission. Before then, I had replaced the radiator (DIY).
Now, brought it out to drive. While replacing the oil and filter, I found this hose. It is 'plasticy" not rubbery.
I was tucking it in when I realized it did not terminate anywhere. What would it be for?
Looks like it would terminate around the bottom of radiator. Just a guess!
Looks like the fuel line should be the one above this one in question, which is also a steel hose.

Thanks.

ITs probably the EVAP hose to the purge canister. Look under your hood for a hose diagram and see if you can place it on there.

Just reporting back on my finding. Yep, you are right. Visited the Volvo dealer in town and was told it's the Evaporation System hose line, supposed to be connected underneath the manifold. Googling to find where the connection would be at the manifold - will also look for the diagram you mentioned.
Thanks you all.

If it doesn't look right or you can't figure the diagram out, post a pic here in this thread.

Volvo sometimes outs the wrong hose diagram under the hood just to enable Internet fora like MVS
