2001 v70 t5 No crank no start

I recently discovered the alarm module is fried. I am in Ketchikan Alaska with no dealer in sight my question is can I bypass this alarm module or do I need to replace it to get the car to start? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

It's pretty integrated into the later P80s and P2 cars. Most regard it as not bypassable.

Can you explain what do you mean "alarm module"? Can you make photo this?

Indeed, are you talking about the siren module? It's the one that enjoys frying from the inside battery. Just disconnect it or just unplug the fuse (other electric components may be affected). If disconnected, the car should have no issues running.

Also get a car to boost the battery even if there are still lights in the cabin, perhaps the fried module drained it.

Indeed I meant the siren module. Thanks for posting. So much conflicting information out there. I plan on replacing it,if I get it running. I am trying to get it viable, before investing more $ in something that possibly needs dealer attention that I have no access to. If I get a replacement module,does it need to be programmed for my vehicle,or is it plug and go? Thanks again

I meant the siren module inside the fender fried from the batteries inside. I think if I replace it, I would mount it 180° to position the batteries from leaking on the board. Hopefully it doesn't require programming from the dealer... Thanks for your reply.

Ok I tried removing the fuse(5amp #38) no dice. I have 13 v coming from the yellow and white wire from the ignition switch when in position III. I am getting a 6 c46 ignition fault code that reappeared after erasing. I have replaced the antenna ring, however I bought a used one ( could be a bad one) as this seems to be problematic in Volvo's. Can the ignition switch be tested? No voltage to solenoid wire. PNP is not suspect,as the shift indicator shows the correct position when shifted. I know nothing about Volvo's so this is speculation not based on a hypothesis. Can anyone tell me how to trace the solenoid wire back to find why it isn't being fed voltage? Thank you for any help,as I am struggling and frustrated.

Replacing the siren module does not require programming from the dealer. It's very doable by a DIYer. Check You Tube for videos.

The alarm module won't stop your car from starting, though. Im guessing thats more important right now.

if I can get it to fire, I will then know I don't have a ECU or PCM problem that requires the dealer. The red triangle is lit on the dash,not blinking, is this indicative of a specific problem?
