Testing rear ABS brake sensor/replacing

Post by nickringelberg »

I would like to test the old ABS brake sensor, right rear, but I do not know where it is plugged in. I have the new wire and can see from the length of the wire attached to it, that it goes up under the gas tank. Is the connector under the rear seats? Or above the gas tank on the underside of the car? I would like to test the old one without removing the gas tank. If it is inside the car, maybe just loosening up the gas tank to facilitate the routing of the new wire would work?

The ABS sensor connectors for the rear are under the rear seats on my "03" and "04" xc70 easily accessible but more complicated to pull the neww sensor through the same route . The connector color is gray on the left side (drivers side) and green on the right side (passenger side). Hope this helps.

Thanks, this was a couple of years ago and I must have replaced it because the light was out for quite a while. It is back on so you info might come in handy!
