Fuel Pressure Sensor and Pump Control Module missing?

Post by goldxc70 »

My 2004 XC70 has been suffering from intermittent loss of power issues. They appear to occur when the tank is less than 1/4 fuel and the engine is up to temp. VIDA does not show any specific fuel pressure or system codes. However, when I went looking for the Fuel Pressure Sensor on the fuel rail, it wasn't there! Also, I tried to check the Pump Control Module and it wasn't behind the fuel filter or in the battery compartment. Are there alternate locations for these components?

Some engines don't have a FPS, other have a fuel pressure damper hidden under the injectors rail

Thanks.
I had the rail off yesterday to replace the fuel line coupling and, definitely, there is no fuel pressure damper there.
