2004 S60 R Service Transmission Required Topic is solved

Hello, We own a 2004 S60R with 160 thousand miles, in the past couple of years the car has been cursed with bad luck. The last issue was having the Back Bumper come off on The Fl. Turnpike while driving 70 miles. No one was hurt, I never found the bumper. Prior to that The Service the Transmission required light came on w/Check Engine light on too. Oh we also have an oil leak that requires us to put a oil in every other day depending on how far the car is driven. Lets start with the Transmission Issue, The gears work perfect until you have driven the car for a long drive about 10 to 15 miles at a high speed like 60-80 miles an hour, when I come to a stop from 5th gear the car chokes, jumps, kicks, can't really explain it. I checked the trans. fluid and its pink and clean looking. Any advice would be great. I don't see the S60R listed on the choices so I picked the S60.

At best it needs a new or rebuilt valve body, at worst you need a new/rebuilt transmission.

You obviously don't want to spend a nickel on it or you would have had the oil leak repaired or at least diagnosed, but now with no apparent prior transmission fluid changes or major work been done it's given up the ghost.

None of this is abnormal for a Volvo, especially with these miles, so now you have a choice, spend the money or walk away as this will probably will cost you more than the car is worth... (unless the oil leak is relatively minor and a valvebody fixes your tranny issue, (it's possible).
