1997 850, low idle then quits.
My Volvo has had off and on trouble. It will run flawlessly some days, other days just quit on me. It tends to happen on really wet days or for longer distances. If I keep it moving and keep the rpms around 2000 - 3000 it is fine. When we come to a stop light, or start to go slower, it will start to chug and jolt before the rpms plummet under 1000 and it just shuts off. If we let it sit we can get it back on, but again if we go slow or come to a stop it's off. (Sometimes putting it in neutral works until I can get it moving again) any ideas?

Stumbles at low idle are often due to vacuum leaks. If the thin rubber vacuum lines have not been updated, they are now 20 years old and mostly crumbling. I would start by checking for vacuum leaks, use visual inspection and/or the starter-fluid method. Or just replace them all, one at a time, it si not that much work and gives you a good tour of the engine bay!
