Post by dmpcjbc »

1992 740 Wagon: Just bought, running fine two days. Ran a little rough last night & now no start. At first warning lights did not come on. Now they do. Tries to start but NG. No spark at coil. Tried a used coil & same problem, no spark.battery fine & everything else seems OK. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you 12 volts at the low tension side of the coil?

Unplug air mass sensor and see if it starts. Unplugging puts it in limp home mode. If it starts unplugged but will not run plugged up air mass sensor is bad. Used one about $30 at www.car-part.com

If no difference. Give the large white relay second row behind ash tray near drives knee at few taps. If it starts you need a fuel pump relay.
