Same engine. different bosch mafs?

I found an exact copy of my car. same year and engine.
And I took the maf, housing and cable from it.
Cause mine still sometimes has a gremlin somehwere there.
Once in a blue moon it just starts to stutter and wont rev.
Then I stop. turn of the engine if it didnt die by itself allready. Unplug the maf. Start the engine. Rev the engine a tiny bit for a second. Put the maf cable back on.
And it will drive perfect again like always. Sometimes for months,. Sometimes for 200 meters.
I got used to it..

So anyway I thought this second maf would be perfect to try. or even swap the cable out when I am bored with it.

But after taking it apart, it has a different bosch partnumber.
Even though it came from the same engine: the b5204t
Does anyone know if these still do the same?
I once found a pdf with all the bosch mafs.. But I cant find it anymore.

the part numer is: bosch 207 02 1 A and then 105
Mine is: Bosch 569 29 2 B 103

I hope it could work, since it looks brandspanking new...

ah its a 6 at the end not a 5..
So bosch 207 02 1 A and then 106
And its from 2012. And my old one from 1995

What year & what engine?
Maf sensors are the same from '91-'95 for all 20v engines(one piece with air filter housing cover).
Different from '95-'99(separate from air filter housing cover Bosch 0 280 217 107).
And from '99 and after(Denso).
For ALL 20v engines...turbo or non-turbo they are the same depending on year.

i said engine is b5204t. Is the 211hp t5 2 litre engine. in a 95/96 car.
I know thats the housing number. but that doesnt say anything about the actual maf in it.

Bosch Maf sensor on '96 car have Bosch 0 280 217 107 part number....one and ONLY!
It sells as a whole thing(with housing)from Bosch or Volvo.

'91-'95 cars have replaceable insert ONLY.

Bosch no.0 280 217 107 is saying everything about Maf for '96-'99 cars,it's like a fingerprint.

However,i believe that MAF inserts are the same for both,earlier and later 850 along with s,v,c,xc70 up to '99 and that insert part # is Bosch 0 280 217 002,
but you would need to remove it from it's housing,read the Bosch number and search by that info.

If you search for '91-'95 Maf sensor you would get JUST an insert from both...Volvo dealership & Bosch.

If you search for '96-'99 Maf sensor ,you would get it along with it's housing ONLY from both...dealership or Bosch.

Every Bosch part have 10 digits part number.For example 0 280 xxx xxx,or 0 260 xxx xxx and those numbers you provided means nothing.

Sorry, but you are wrong...
MAF with Bosch nr. 0 280 217 002 was used with system called Bosch LH-3.2 Jetronic at normally aspirated 20-valve engines ONLY (B5204, B5234 and B5254), without depending of model year. This system has separated ECU's for fuel injection and ignition timing control.
MAF 0 280 217 107 was used with Motronic 4.3 and Motronic 4.4 at all NA and turbo engines with 20 valves (excepting engines for S/V70 with Denso system). All 10-valve engines at all years were equipped with Siemens Fenix 5 system based on MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor instead of MAF.

You obviuosly missed the part where i said that i believe that INSERT is the same.Insert is the actual Maf sensor.
When you remove the INSERT from 0 280 217 107 part,i believe that there would be an insert with Bosch 0 280 217 002 part number.

From '96 and onwards there was ONLY Bosch 0 280 217 107 Maf and it seems that Turbo models from '93 use the same since they are Motronic 4.3.
Older 850s n/a with Jetronic have fixed maf sensor housing and only insert can be replaced.
Newer ones,from '96 have complete housing,along with sensor,replaceable if they are Motronic 4.3 or 4.4.
I'm saying this because in 1996, both Bosch LH 3.2 and Bosch Motronic 4.4 was fitted.

After a bit of research i found this:

Perhaps, I was not quite accurate, English is not my native language.
Inserts for Jetronic and Motronic are different! They have the same dimensions and connector, but their characteristic maps are completely different, so they are not interchangeable.
You are right, 0 280 217 107 is a number of MAF assembly. It incorporates this:

Exactly!
I know the housing should have that number. I have seen all years and models in many different junkers around.
But I dont care about the housing number, since I didnt buy it new.
I got it off a junker, so I cant assume it is original. They could have put everything in that housing.
All I know is that it had the same engine, so there could be a good chance it is the same.
Thats why I took it.

So those numbers on the maf itself. Not on the housing. Those are the numbers i am talking about.

I once found a list of those exact bosch numbers. And its characteristics.
They sometimes vary only the tiniest bit in characteristics, but they really do vary.

Bosch website doesnt find these numbers too.

I would like to see one OEM Bosch insert from Jetronic car to compare it with Motronic 4.3 & 4.4.If numbers are the same on it,that would be it.
That chinese version is just that...cheap piece of junk.It's not even comparable with oem one in neither way.

I'm not saying that they are the same,but there is a big chance for that.
Who knows.
If you think twice.....it is not even worth a research.Just buy oem one and that's it.Prices are the same anyway.
