Post by loosenut »

Well. I have sent my ECU to UPSOLUTE for a tune. I have read some good reviews.
I am posting this just in case anyone is wondering about other IPD and ARD.

I should have it back Monday the 15th of may 2017.
You will see a post the next day.

Wish me luck. also if anyone has used this place before feel free to chime in.

I never heard of Upsolute before, but good luck with it.

Can't wait to find out how it works for you, I have been toying with the idea of getting a tune for my 98' XC, possibly ARD.

I've replaced four engines total in (previously perfectly healthy) cars that have over-boosted as a result of an ARD tune. If you load the maps into a file that you can look at, they are GARBAGE.
Lucky will also argue that it is a problem with the car, there is no support with them.
I tried a green tune personally in my 98 S70 T5 and took it right back out.
I'm running an iPd stage 2 tune currently.

When I had my 86 850 R 11-12 years ago, someone "gave me" an Upsolute ECU, (long story).
At the time no one even knew who tuned this ECU, but after some searching through the records of the car that the tune came out of, in the owner's manual was a note scribbled that where it came from and what it was.
I had never heard of them then and no one really mentions them anymore but let me tell you, at least with the 4.4 Motronic, that old 850R was VERY fast and VERY smooth with nary a problem for me and for the next owner who had it until last year!!!
No idea how the ME7 tune is, but my guess is it should be good!
Good luck.
Mod note. Jim passed away in early 2022, his contributions to this forum are immortal, and he is missed. RIP

Received my ECU from Upsolute today.
Good Lord....
They tuned it for my 15g. Good Lord...
I am in no way knocking IPD or ARD.
Although for 300.00 usd plus shipping it back to me express 75.00. Why would anyone pay 800.00. Why...

Awsome tune i couldnt get o er 5psi boost.
No lie i hit 15psi and cut throttle...no lag...quick responce...

Oh and why pay 500.00 for an intercooler when atc racing has an all aluminum intercooler exact fit for 235.00
Received that today also.
Im in volvo upgrade heaven..
