Rear parking sensor broken - can I do something to fix?

Post by stefmit »

XC70 2008: Someone knocked/pushed in one of my rear parking assist sensors, which is now sort of hanging behind the bumper, on the inside, completely covered by it. This leads (obviously) to an ongoing alert sound when the car is in rear (I know I could turn the sound off :-)). I wonder how I could fix this - it doesn't look like I can pull it through its hole, from the outside, and don't know how easy would be to reach it from inside, and push it out through the bumper hole, while gluing it back in place. I don't want to take it to a shop and pay tons just to have it fixed. Any suggestions or pointers to docs that show how to reach these from inside? Or else? TIA!
