Favourite Sparkpluglead brand for t5 850

Post by kaneelschep »

Hi there.

Anyone have a Favourite Sparkpluglead brand for a turbo 850? Or wich one is original?
I Can get Bosch or beru for about the same price; 100 euro, here.
NGK also offers a set for 68.

Also what is the service interval of the leads, cap and rotor?
I read this on ipd.
15k to 20k miles. wich I am used to too. But I read here people are driving much longer with them.

I probably did 40000km now with the set. On lpg.. :)
cap and rotor was bosch. The leads where delphi.

Bougicord is original and the only one you should use.

Leads can go 50k (miles) no problem and up to 100k, up to 50k on cap and rotor.

Nice. The bougiecord are a quarter cheaper than the bosch. Why are they so good? Since the rotor and cap are originaly bosch.

Also I heard driving on lpg demands more from the ignition system. Because of the hotter burn. So it needs to be serviced faster. Any thoughts on that?

Mine are still original and they are perfect, not a single hiccup from day 1.Cap & rotor were replaced preventatively after 300+k km about 3-years ago, also not a single problem with them.
Maybe the secret is that the car always used ONLY oem Volvo spark plugs from new and replaced every 70k km,also preventatively.

More frequent service interval is fairytale,BUT ignition system MUST be in perfect working order when car runs on LPG.
That said....car can run perfect on petrol but will make problems on LPG.It's because LPG needs the best spark ignition system can produce. Also when car runs on LPG,spark plug gap MUST be reduced in about 0,1-0,2mm than factory recommendation.

Bougicord is the BEST and if spark plugs are replaced regularly they can outlast the car. That also stands for BOSCH cap & rotor.

I finally fixed my srs problem and know the car is now problem free.
But now the check light sometimes comes on for some kms and then turns off again.
Thought it could be because of a misfire related to the ignition. I read it does this then.
I drive a lot of long drives (1500km) in one go a year. So I could clearly see it coming on and going off again in the same drive. No different circumstances.
Anyway. No real problem though. Engine always feels the same. And it only happened twice yet.
Maybe just the rain on the cables..

I have been running these cables, cap, rotor and ngk iridium sparkplugs for about 40000km. And lpg for about 35000km now.
The company which did the lpg conversion was very happy with these sparkplugs and said they can easily do up to 80k-90k km.
I will ask them what they think of interval for cap, rotor and cables.

Good! when I change. I will get the bougiecords.
any thoughts on the delphi cables?
Worth to change now?

When engine is misfiring, lambda light(check engine light) will flash during the misfiring.

Ok! good to know. ;)
Then I will wait with the ignition parts and just try to get it to my garage when the light is on again.
