Hi guys!
I'm comming from Volvo 850, S70, V70, C70 & V70-XC Forum (1992-2000).
I have a lot of remained parts for 144,244 and some for 340/360 cars on my attic.
I found two windshields on my attic for which i know that one came from a 144 and the other one from 244.One have heater defroster lines and the other one doesn't.They look pretty exactly identical when i put them against each other minus defroster lines,so they must be the rear ones.
I hoped that the one without defroster lines is the front one because i was asked to sell it.
If somebody doesn't know....windshields for 100 & 200 series cars are identical(front to front & rear to rear,of course).
My question is...is it possible that some of the first models of 144 didn't had heater defroster lines on rear screen?
I asked my dad & granddad and they are don't remember.
I found some pictures on the internet from early 144 and it appears that they really didn't had them according to the picture of the rear screen:

It seems that they had a ventilation demisting system which was blowing air trough the rear vents just by the screen rather than defroster lines.

I believe that 140s came from the factory with rear window defrosters starting in 1969 for North American models.

The model in the picture from a link in 1st post is from U.S market,it is '68 and it doesn't have rear defroster.
The rear windshield from 144 on my attic says that early 144 didn't had them.
