Urgent :( XC90 2005 2.5T AWD "Plunge CV?"

I am trying to change the control arms on my XC90/
I noticed after a while that the CV joints can move freely in/out. U haven;t been rude on them - so I dont think I have done anythign bad and that is normal, i.e. they should be "plunge "type joints. Is it right? Or do I have to worry about rebuilding them?

Normal based on video posted. Just make sure boots are not cracked.

Thanks. I freaked out completely

Job done eventually - went to bed at 3Am :/
Pulling the ball joints was a pain.
Also pressing the arm down / pressing the hub up was atrocious.
One of the new arms thread were machines slightly off-axis. (Moog)
It took ma ages to ensure the screws through the frame grabbed the threads properly
