I know that the cargo cover was available as a factory accessory, but I was wondering if anyone found an aftermarket product that works or maybe built something.

They do turn up for sale from time to time, but they are hard to find un-broken. @ issues with used ones are the end caps being broken off, and the rubber tips for the 2 pegs either side are missing. I'm also still looking for a good oak/lt. beige cover. I have one in the project but one end the cap is broken off. It still works but squeaks like crazy!
